CONGRATULATIONS ABENA ON WINNING STYLIST OF THE YEAR!

asquared’s Abena Richardson has scaled the heights of the Hairdressing industry and has been awarded the most coveted prize at the 15th annual WAHL/Black Beauty Hairdressing Awards, to claim the title “Stylist of the Year 2009/10”. In a finalist field of the most renowned names in Afro hairdressing, the likes and calibre of Errol Douglas (Errol Douglas), Junior Green (Junior Green Hair & Beauty), British Hairdresser of the year Michelle Thompson (Francesco Group) and reigning stylist of the year Kim Johnson (Hype Coiffure). Abena said “This has been a lifelong dream, and to have my work recognised this year is just amazing with all the milestones and achievements of 2009”. Although I am the name that won the award, there is an ever strong team behind me that motivate, inspire and infuse me with ideas concepts and the desire to raise our standard and the standard of the industry as a whole. This award is as much for me as it is for them and without God, where will I be”. Enjoying the spoils and praise of the night, Abena’s mind is already focusing on and looking forward to creating her collections for 2010. Abena said “I like to create dynamic and technically challenging styles which display a fresh twist complimented with strong striking imagery which has made asquared renowned”.
